Hoang Su Phi is a district situated in the western part of Ha Giang province. Currently, Hoang Su Phi comprises 24 communes and 1 town. This region is home to 12 different ethnic groups, with the majority being Nung, Mong, Tay, Dao, and La Chi.
Located at the upper reaches of the Chay River, the terrain of Hoang Su Phi is intersected by numerous streams, resulting in steep slopes.

Approximately 80km from the center of Ha Giang, the area is renowned for its terraced fields, offering a scenery that is entirely different from other regions with terraced fields. The terraced fields here are towering and expansive.
