Firstly, the tour starts with an introduction to the local food scene over a light and refreshing appetizer, nom bo kho — beef with green papaya salad
Secondly, to show the background of Vietnamese cooking ingredients, the guide will take you to visit Hang Be Market where you can find all kinds of goods ranging from tropical fruits, meat, to dried food items for worshipping.
Thirdly, you’ll see how the locals make your steamed meat and mushroom pancake, and enjoy it right after, when it is hot and fresh.
Along the Old Quarter, you can see many hawkers selling fresh fruits (not available during rainy days). You can take pictures and sample the selection.
After that, we follow President Obama’s footsteps and enjoy Bun Cha — rice noodles topped with grilled pork.
